KU Leuven
KU Leuven needed a clearer way to present research around Kunstenerfgoed Vlaanderen. The subject was dense: organisations, archive practices, disciplines, survey data, relationships, and names that only make sense once you understand how they connect.
The challenge was to make the research easier to understand. I treated the project not as a set of static reports but as a map that could help people move effortlessly through the network.
I built the identity around an asterisk: a simple marker for attention that can point, open, tag, and interrupt when implemented well. Around it, I developed a visual system with deep blue, pale blue, yellow, and supporting category colours.
The interface uses grouped cards, visible connections, soft side panels, and clear category colours. The final design gives the research room to stay complex, but reduces the friction around reading it, comparing it, and moving from one organisation to another.
